Modi’s ₹18,500-Crore Gift to Assam; Himanta Sarma Says – Assam Will Be the Pillar of Self-Reliant India

 

World’s first bamboo-based 2G bio-ethanol
plant – Built at a cost of ₹5,000 crore, this state-of-the-art project was
inaugurated by PM Modi. The plant will purchase bamboo from farmers and
generate 25 MW of green energy annually. The CM called it a “win-win situation”
for both farmers and the environment Foundation of a ₹7,230 crore Polypropylene
(PP) Plant – This unit will boost self-reliance in producing PP, widely used in
automobile, textile, and industrial sectors. Once completed, it will reduce
India’s import dependence by 20%, save ₹700 crore in foreign exchange annually,
and create about 75,000 new jobs in Assam.PM Modi unveiled development projects
worth Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday expressed deep
gratitude for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic visit to Assam. Sarma
said that under PM Modi’s leadership, Assam is moving towards playing a crucial

wrote: Grateful to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. Assam will now
make a significant contribution towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. Today, two major
and innovative projects have been launched in Golaghat district, which will
prove to be milestones for farmers, youth, and industry.

Highlighting Assam’s cultural legacy, Modi
recalled Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika, saying: *“Bhupen Da gave voice to
India’s unity, and conferring Bharat Ratna on him reflects our government’s

tour, he attacked the Congress for “speaking Pakistan’s language and insulting
Assam’s heritage,” while at the same time offering voters confidence in

At a rally in Darrang, Modi directly targeted
the Congress, saying: *“Congress has always placed vote-bank politics above
India’s security and Assam’s honour. They adopted Pakistan’s false propaganda
as their agenda. When our army was eliminating terrorists across the border,
Congress stood with Pakistan’s military.He accused the Congress of shielding
infiltrators and forces altering Assam’s demography, calling it a grave
national security threat.
